Wie man sehen kann fotografiere ich keine Einzelbilder, sondern im Rahmen von Projekten Serien von Bildern, denen jeweils ein bestimmtes Thema zugrunde liegt. Das Thema ergibt sich manchmal spontan aufgrund einer besonderen Wetterlage, eines speziellen Ereignisses oder einer interessanten Situation. Meistens bleibt dann nur wenig Zeit, die Idee in konkrete Fotos umzusetzen. Dies stellt eine besondere Herausforderung dar und macht das Fotografieren für mich immer wieder spannend.
Es gibt aber auch Themen, bei denen sich das konkrete Konzept erst mit der Zeit entwickelt. In diesem Fall können von der ersten Idee bis zur endgültigen Realisierung auch mehrere Wochen vergehen.
Je nach Thema und Stimmung, die ich ausdrücken möchte, fotografiere ich das Projekt in Schwarz-Weiß, in Farbe oder - eher ungewöhnlich - auch in einem Mix aus Schwarz-Weiß und Farbe.
Meine Fotos werden in der Regel nicht mehr am Computer nachbearbeitet. Ich versuche vielmehr, die Bilder gleich während des Fotografierens mit den Möglichkeiten, die die Kamera bietet, so zu gestalten, wie ich sie mir vorstelle.
Die Fotos aus der Rubrik 'New York City' wurden im Jahr 2007 in Augsburg ausgestellt.
I was born in 1970 in Heidenheim (Southern Germany) where I also live today.
As you can see I do not shoot single pictures but series of pictures within the scope of a project. Each project has a certain subject. Sometimes the subject comes to my mind spontaneously due to special weather conditions, a special event or another interesting situation. Mostly there is only little time to realize the planned concept which is challenging and keeps photography fascinating for me.
For other subjects there is an idea at the beginning but it takes several weeks until the final concept is finalized and the photos are completed.
A project consists of black and white photos, color photos or a mixture of black and white and color photos which is rather unusal. The style depends on the subject of the series and the atmosphere the pictures are supposed to show.
In general I do not manipulate the pictures via the computer. During shooting I try to achieve the planned result by using all the different options the camera offers.
